A tourist from Italy was slashed in Midtown on Saturday in the most recent unprovoked knife attack to hit Manhattan, authorities said.

The incident unfolded at about 10:40 a.m. on Nov. 23 not far from Grand Central Station along Madison Avenue between East 37th and 38th Streets.

Law enforcement sources said the 42-year-old sightseer was walking in front of a luxury apartment building when the perpetrator, an unidentified woman, approached while brandishing a knife and suddenly took a swipe at him, striking the man in the right hand.

Following the attack, cops said, the slasher fled on foot northbound along Madison Avenue. The wounded tourist, meanwhile, called for aid — and officers from the 17th Precinct and EMS responded to the scene. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for his injuries.

The attack occurred days after another tourist was slashed on the Upper West Side. In that incident, the suspect — 25-year-old Joshua Zinberg — allegedly jogged up behind the victim, a 55-year-old man, along West 86th Street and cut his face. Zinberg’s mother later walked into the 20th Precinct and identified him to police, helping them make the arrest.

As for Saturday’s incident, police said no arrests have yet been made, and the search continues for the suspect — who was last seen wearing black pants, a blue shirt, and a blue denim jacket.
