Brooklyn cops found two people fatally shot outside a home on Tuesday morning in an apparent murder-suicide, law enforcement sources said.
The horrific incident unfolded outside a home on the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue in Bushwick at about 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 11, police reported.
Officers from the 83rd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found two people at the location — Gabriel Sanchez, 41, who lived down the block on Jefferson Avenue, and Celina Ramos, 32, of Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, both of whom had suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
Sources familiar with the case said the incident is believed to be an attempted murder-suicide related to domestic violence.
Law enforcement sources said the pair were boyfriend and girlfriend, and it’s believed that Sanchez shot Ramos first before turning the gun on himself.
EMS rushed Sanchez to Woodhull Hospital and Ramos to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. Both later died of their injuries, police said Tuesday afternoon.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, cops said. The investigation remains ongoing.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence and abuse from a partner, you can call the City’s 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline, 1-800-621-HOPE.
