Times Square stabbing: Teenager stable after being knifed in the eye by masked suspects

A 14-year-old boy is now in stable condition after being stabbed in Times Square on Wednesday night.

Police sources said the incident happened at around 7 p.m. on April 16 in front of a tourist gift store located near the corner of West 43rd Street and 8th Avenue.

Sources familiar with the case said the 14-year-old boy became engaged in a dispute with two male suspects, one of whom pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the left eye and arm.

Eyewitnesses said they saw the teenager down on the sidewalk following the assault.

Following the bloody assault, cops said, the perpetrators fled the scene on foot northbound along 8th Avenue. According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrators may have been teenagers themselves.

“Police and ambulances came,” a worker at the gift store told amNewYork. “They were, like, 14, 15-years-old.”

Officers from the Midtown South Precinct responded to the incident. EMS rushed the wounded teen to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition; after surgery, he was listed in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

Law enforcement sources said one of the suspects wore a red hooded sweatshirt with a ski mask, while the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt with a ski mask.
