Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn is ready for its close-up: Take a look around

The wait is over: Downtown Brooklyn’s Alamo Drafthouse made its long-awaited debut Oct. 28.

The owner of the fan favorite chain said the borough is hungry for a new way to watch films and have a night out. In addition to its seven screens, the two-floor movie house includes a fun bar filled with early 20th century horror-film wax figures, a roof patio and an eclectic menu that can be ordered during any show.

“Theaters used to be a big neighborhood sensibility, but that’s been lost,” Alamo founder Tim League said following a tour of the new space Monday. “We want to try and bring that back.”

Various issues involving the building code approvals and liquor licenses delayed Alamo Drafthouse’s initial slated opening during the summer, but League said his team used that extra time to make sure every facet of the movie theater was perfect.
