As winter winds down, the curtain is about to fall on one of New York City’s most enchanting off-season experiences. QC New York’s “QCirque of Wonders,” a mesmerizing live show set against the iconic Manhattan skyline, is gearing up for its final performances, and time is running out for guests to immerse themselves in this magical spectacle.
Transforming QC New York into a whimsical winter wonderland, “QCirque of Wonders” features fire artists, stilt walkers, light performers, and more, all set against the backdrop of the Governors Island spa’s outdoor heated pools. These unique performances have been captivating audiences since Dec. 19 and will continue to grace the stage (or, line QC’s fan-favorite heated outdoor pools) on select evenings through March 8.
The performances kick off at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, with shows occurring every half hour until 8:30 pm. This unique blend of entertainment and relaxation has made QC New York’s outdoor heated pools one of the most sought-after off-season experiences in the city.
Captivating performances aside, QC New York’s outdoor heated pools offer a truly unique winter escape — as do its many amenities, from fully immersive saunas and steam baths to foot soaks, relaxation rooms and more. The spa also provides heated walkways and tunnels leading to the pools, complete with warming racks to keep robes cozy on chilly days.
Heads of QC New York hope that “QCirque of Wonders” can help captivate a whole new audience of spa-goers.
QC New York also encourages guests to explore its expansive 74,000-square-foot space, indulging in the Italian art of “dolce far niente” – the sweetness of doing nothing. Winter highlights include relaxation rooms like the Fireplace Room, where guests can enjoy a rocking chair by the fire and a complimentary face mask, and the Scottish Room, a steam room infused with eucalyptus and balsamic aromas to expel winter stress and toxins.
As the performances draw to a close, Sbarbaro said,”There is nothing quite like experiencing our outdoor pools during the winter. As the mist rises off the water and the jaw-dropping views of New York Harbor come into focus, you start to appreciate the magic of this little corner of wellness and wonder we’ve created on Governors Island.”
Tickets for a five-hour stay at QC New York start at $124 for the Escape Entrance, and the Sunset Entrance, available from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., starts at $98. Passes include access to pools, relaxation areas, saunas, steam rooms, bathrobes, sandals, towels, complimentary showers, and body and skincare products. Massages, food, and beverages are available separately for purchase.
