The cage match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins at the main event of WWE Raw on Netflix on Monday night left fans at Madison Square Garden chanting for the superstars to “fight forever.”
WWE returned to “The World’s Most Famous Arena” on March 10 on the company’s road to Wrestlemania, where fan favorites Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, and more appeared before about 17,000 people.
The viral heel turn of John Cena after two decades of portraying a babyface continued in front of the New York audience when current WWE champion and Cena’s main event Wrestlemania opponent appeared in the ring sporting a black eye from the beatdown at Elimination Chamber.

“Nobody defined best for business more than John Cena. There’s almost 17,000 people in here tonight. I think we know what’s best for business, perhaps the business has changed,” Rhodes said, pledging to the crowd that Cena will not break records and win the championship for the 17th time in his career.
“Seventeen does not happen, but what does happen is I get the heartbreaking privilege of beating my hero in his last chance while he finds out what the rest of you already know, and he finds it out in real-time. John, I’m the captain now,” he added.
The event concluded with an epic grudge cage match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk. The pair left fans in awe and chanting “Fight forever,” in the back-and-forth bout as both men pulled out all the stops to secure victory. From fighting on top of the cage to performing each other’s finishing maneuvers, both wrestlers refused to leave the cage or be pinned.
The match unceremoniously ended when Roman Reigns dragged Rollins from the cage and unleashed an attack on him. He did stop there, however. He also brutalized Punk who was still inside the cage. Many fans speculate this will lay the groundwork for a triple-threat match between the three men at Wrestlemania.
WWE is set to return to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night with NXT RoadBlock.
