After a three-year hiatus, Zagat, an essential guide for foodies, is making its return to print.
On Tuesday, The Infatuation, a restaurant review website, which acquired Zagat in the spring of 2018, released a special 40th anniversary edition of the Zagat New York City Guide, which was the first since 2016.
The iconic burgundy cover is back with its original 30-point rating system and crowd-sourced reviews, which will fill the pages of reviews for more than 1,400 restaurants across 105 NYC neighborhoods and 57 cuisines.
The No. 1 spot for food in the 2020 guide goes to Manhattan’s Le Bernardin, which is also ranked as the “most popular” restaurant by survey takers. Daniel is No. 1 in service and Majorelle is No. 1 in decor, according to the brand.
There’s more in store for Zagat in 2020, too. The Infatuation will rebuild the brand’s online presence with a new site that will allow diners to rate and review restaurants “effectively and responsibly,” it says.
