Lady Gaga returned to the place where it all began on Thursday night — The Bitter End in Greenwich Village.
The singer put on a surprise performance at the bar on the eve of the release date of her latest album, “Joanne.” It was the second stop of her Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour, which she announced earlier this month.
Gaga, who grew up in NYC, performed at the famous dive bar as an unsigned act before her career took off, back before the launch of her first album in 2008.
Die-hard Gaga fans who jumped on the chance to see her perform got to hear a preview of her album, including the tracks “Diamond Heart,” “A-Yo,” and “Joanne.” Those who didn’t cram the downtown space were able to watch along on her Facebook Live broadcast.
The singer’s family and a few celebrity fans, including Robert De Niro, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, were spotted in the audience, according to a news release.
Gaga also took her performance to the balcony above the bar to perform for fans on watching along Bleecker Street.
