Madame Tussauds visitors are getting lucky with the addition of two new pop-culture figurines.
The six-time Grammy Award-winning French electronic music duo Daft Punk are the latest to join the star-studded lineup at the Madame Tussauds New York City location. The pair can be found behind the DJ booth in the glamorous Glow Gala area.
“As Daft Punk and Madame Tussauds both share French origins, this collaboration is a testament to the innovation and artistic brilliance of those that came before us and the ability of music and art to transcend global boundaries,” said Ben Shapiro, Marketing Executive at Madame Tussauds New York. “We’re honored to welcome fans from ‘Around the World’ to the attraction to see their idols ‘One More Time’ and celebrate the legacy of Daft Punk and French House music.”
Born Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Daft Punk rose to fame in the ’90s and 2000s with smash hits like “One More Time,” “Around The World,” “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” and “Technologic.” The wax figures are styled with in custom-tailored replicas of Saint Laurent’s black sequined Le Smoking tuxedo suits designed by Hedi Slimane, as seen in Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories project.
