K-Pop girl group Loossemble says their fans fuel the fire of their success.

The popular group’s members spoke with amNewYork Metro about their triumphant return to New York City on Oct. 9 for their “Up Link Station” US tour at Town Hall. Hundreds of C.Loo, the name affectionately given to Loosemble fans, gathered at the Town Hall on 43rd Street and Broadway, clutching onto their light sticks and picket signs, ready to see Hyeju, Hyunjin, ViVi, and Go Won (their fifth member, YeoJin, was absent from this performance).

“I was so happy to debut as Loossemble with our New York C.Loo. I was really nervous, but I gained so much strength from your passionate support,” Go Won told amNewYork Metro.

“I’m really happy that we get to meet our New York C.Loo again. Our last tour was a bit more static as it was our debut stage, but I think on this tour, we can have a lot more fun together,” HyunJin added.

Prior to their debut in September 2023, these talented young women were previously a part of the embattled K-pop group LOONA, which was composed of 11 members under Blackberry Creative. After a series of lawsuits regarding mistreatment allegations, the members were able to start anew under different subgroups with fresh labels.

Loosemble, which is short for “LOONA Assemble,” has proven to be a phoenix that not only rose from the ashes but also above the odds. They secured their space in the music industry with the release of two albums, Loosemble and One of A Kind, along with their hit EP TTYL.

“We’ve released more albums and have more songs, so I think our fans can look forward to the stages even more. I feel like Loossemble has improved a lot in terms of performance,” HyunJin said.

Despite feeling nervous in 2023 when they made their US debut at Madison Square Garden, Go Won states that this time, they had a whole new repertoire in their arsenal. This fiery passion was on full display at Town Hall when Loosemble showcased a new layer of confidence, dominating the stage with fun choreography and a special spark that made fans fall in love with the girl group all over again.

“Since last year’s tour, we’ve had two comebacks, so we have more songs to share. Last time, I was nervous because it was our debut, but this time I can enjoy the stage more with our C.Loo,” Go Won said.

“After a year of preparing albums and performing, I believe we can show diverse concepts and showcase a wider range of our charms,” ViVi added. “Since we are both Loossemble and LOONA, I feel like we naturally incorporated original elements while trying out new things.”

While Loosemble’s first album paved the foundation of who they are as performers, their following albums conveyed that their fans, their friends, are what is so precious to them.

“In One of a Kind, we wanted to convey that every one of us is precious and that we can come together to spend quality time filled with happiness. Transitioning to the TTYL album, we wanted to extend the message that we feel infinite love for you; that the world is inevitably interconnected, and that we are stronger together,” HyunJin said.

“In our second album, we found our C.Loo to share precious moments with. Us being together isn’t a coincidence but a choice, and that makes us one of a kind. The third album tells a story of love for someone and how we playfully navigate that relationship,” Vivi added.

Love, friendship, and supporting one another have been the key focus for Loosemble, who have recognized and embraced the diversity of their fandom. Go Won shares that in creating new connections with their C.Low, she hopes that everyone can enjoy their tour in their own unique way.

“Providing comfort is one of the reasons why we make music, so hearing that is very motivating. Our music often contains messages of hope and empathy. So, we express a wide range of emotions through exciting tracks as well as calming, relaxing songs,” Go Won said.

“Each album contains a hopeful message, but I want everyone to feel that during the show, we are truly united in understanding and accepting one another,” HyeJu said.

Fans shared with amNewYork Metro that Loosemble’s music has been a source of comfort to them in times of need, and many were able to draw strength from watching the members persevere and thrive in the entertainment industry.

Loosemble takes pride themselves in hearing such messages from their fans, sharing that they want to convey positive feelings like hope and empathy.

“I’m so happy that our music can provide comfort. The messages we aim to convey are: believe in yourself, love yourself, and let’s be happy together because you are not alone. Loossemble and C.Loo are together,” Vivi said.

“Having experienced receiving comfort from music myself, I believe this is an emotion that can’t be expressed in words. The message we want to share through our music is to love each other as we are, without prejudice or rigid standards,” HyeJu said.

Loosemble’s next stop will be in Madison, WI on Oct. 16.
