A Bronx music label is celebrating 13 years of business with a special celebration next week.
On Nov. 23, The Fox & King, a Bronx-based music and live production agency, will highlight the borough’s best and brightest independent hip hop, progressive metal and electronic music artists. The party will take place at The Bronx Brewery starting at 5 p.m.
“To see where we began, how much we’re doing now and what we envision for the future is nothing short of explosive,” said Fernando Michael, founder of The Fox & King. “Rick Rubin created Def Jam Records in his NYU dorm room and look what he’s accomplished now – I can truthfully say we’re on the same path.”
A main highlight of the night will be the final performance of yo-yo superstar and Bronx-based emcee Richard Pigkaso, who recently released his final album Lusus Naturae 3: You’re Beautiful Gorgeous. Pigkaso will be performing the album in its entirety.
The lineup for the night will also feature Solo Jones, serving as his Bronx homecoming show alongside his full three-set band, Blass 89, Honey Daze, The Astral Cadence, Lola Menthol and DJ Mike. The night will also feature local vendors and small businesses, including food, merchandise and flash tattoos by Art By Jar & Rob Vintage.
The event is free to attend for all ages, but you must be 21+ to drink. You can RSVP to the party at eventbrite.com.
