Looking for love this summer in the city? Look no further than Patti Stanger, the “Millionaire Matchmaker” herself! The New Jersey native now calls Los Angeles her home, but she knows the Big Apple like the back of her hand. We caught up with Patti and talked her two new business endeavors: the launch of her wine collection, P.S. Match, and her new partnership with Completely Bare. And we had to ask, of course, about how to find that perfect summer romance. Single New Yorkers, listen up.
Congrats on 100 episodes of “The Millionaire Matchmaker!” What can we expect from the next 100?
We don’t know yet. We’re in the middle of negotiations. Stay tuned!
What advice do you have for a single in the city for finding romance this summer?
There’s five women to one guy. Women need to start hitting the suburbs; Connecticut, New Jersey. Don’t stay just in the city. If you live in Meatpacking and you’re not going uptown, it’s ridiculous, and women wonder why a man doesn’t show up to their box they live in. You’ve got to be smart and go where the men are. Spend a weekend in the suburbs and get to know the locals. You might meet a bachelor who just bought a house in the down economy. And for the guys, same. Wherever you live in the city, just get out there. It’s all about location!
What are some of your favorite food and date spots when you’re here in the city?
My favorite food spot by far is Serendipity. Their Frozen Hot Chocolate goes a long way. I’m all about chocolate. I also love Carmine’s, as well as The Waverly Inn and the truffle mac & cheese there.
What’s your favorite romantic restaurant in the city?
One if by Land, Two if by Sea. It’s in the Village and is old as time. It’s so romantic, and the food is delicious.
What about your favorite things to do in New York?
Sheep Meadow. I lived in the Upper West Side and lived across the street from it. But if you can get a key, Gramercy Park. I’ve been once and it’s amazing. But honestly above all, I love Central Park. I love the boathouse and just having a glass of wine there. I also love the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the dress collections.
