“Saturday Night Live” will have a trio of new faces this season.
The iconic NBC show announced Monday that Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor will join the cast this year for the show’s 42nd season.
They will replace Taran Killam, Jon Rudnitsky and Jay Pharoah.
The new season will premiere on Oct. 1, but the guest host hasn’t been named yet.
Here is some info on the new players.
Mikey Day: The 36-year-old has been writing for SNL since 2013 and had guest appearances in skits. He was also a featured player during this summer’s variety show “Maya & Marty,” where he was head writer.
Melissa Villaseñor: The 28-year-old comedian, the first Latina cast member in the show’s history, has been performing for years and was a contestant on “America’s Got Talent” in 2011. Her YouTube videos that feature impersonations of figures such as Owen Wilson and SNL alum Kristen Wiig, are big hits online.
Alex Moffat: The Chicago native has been a veteran of several improv groups including Second City and the iO Theater. He starred in a 2015 movie “Uncle John.”
