Hulu has officially released six first-look images of the highly anticipated sixth and final season of its acclaimed series “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel, The Handmaid’s Tale follows life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society that formerly was the United States of America. The story centers on Offred (also known as June), played by Elizabeth Moss. Offred is one of the few fertile women in Gilead, known as the “Handmaids,” and struggles to survive as a reproductive surrogate for a Commander.
Moss is joined in season six by Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles.
Moss was the first to share the photos on social media, which are taken from the first three episodes from the season. Moss herself directed the first two episodes of the season.
