Get a taste of Lower Manhattan at the annual Dine Around Downtown food festival.
Dine Around Downtown was launched in 1997 by the Alliance for Downtown New York as a way to celebrate Lower Manhattan’s rich culinary scene. On June 4, 41 Lower Manhattan restaurants will set up at Fosun’s landmarked plaza at 28 Liberty St. for the ultimate festival of Lower Manhattan cuisine.
This is the 21st iteration of Dine Around Downtown. The event is made possible with the help of the host sponsor, Fosun.
“Dine Around is the perfect time to sample a few Lower Manhattan restaurants that you’ve been meaning to check out, but haven’t had the chance to visit yet,” Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin said. “This year’s lineup showcases some exciting new additions to downtown’s culinary scene, alongside many neighborhood faves.”
The event will be hosted by award-winning chef and author Rocco DiSpirito, who will be signing copies of his new cookbook “Everyday Delicious” during the festival. Dine Around Downtown is free to enter, with restaurants offering items and beverages ranging from $5 to $9. Some of this year’s vendors include recent additions to the neighborhood such as Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson, Best Sicily Bottega and Tin Building by Jean Georges.
Like in years past, Dine Around Downtown is a zero-waste event, with composting and recycling stations located throughout the plaza.
“Dine Around Downtown is a unique tradition that celebrates Lower Manhattan’s dynamic culinary scene,” said Thomas Costanzo, global partner of Fosun and CEO of Four Trees Asset Management. “We are pleased to partner with the Downtown Alliance to bring our community together on Fosun Plaza for yet another fantastic food festival.”
Dine Around Downtown will take place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For a full list of participating restaurants, visit downtownny.com/community-food-festival.
