With the holiday season on the horizon, Rockefeller Center is getting ahead of the game with the selection of this year’s Christmas Tree.
On Oct. 28, Tishman Speyer announced that the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is coming from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. This is the first time that the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has come from the Bay State since 1959.
The tree, donated by the Albert family, is approximately 70 years old and stands 74 feet tall, 43 feet wind and weighing 11 tons. The tree will be cut on Nov. 7 and will arrive at Rockefeller Center on Nov. 9.
Once it arrives in New York City, the tree will be adorned with more than 50,000 multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights and then crowned with a a Swarovski star. As always, the tree will be lit during the live broadcast “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” which will take place on Dec. 4.
The tree will be on display through mid-January 2025, and like in years past, the tree will be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
