Macy’s ‘Fashion’s Front Row’ kicks off NYFW with Ariana Grande, Flo Rida performances

Flo Rida jumped, Ariana Grande whipped her pony and a slew of models strutted down the runway — all for charity, and to kick off New York Fashion Week — in “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row,” a spectacle of music and fashion held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.

The show, hosted by Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, was recorded live and will air on E! on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. Best of all, on the day of the broadcast, fans will be able to shop looks right off the runway via the new website, macys.com/shoptheshow.

Tune in and you’ll catch Rida in “Zillionaire” mode, Grande belting out “I’m So Into You,” plus a slew of runway shows offering up this fall’s must-have looks for … y’know … regular folks. No peacock feathers or sweaters with three sleeves here (yes, we’ve actually seen those). Instead, wearable clothes from some of Macy’s most popular brands, including INC, Kenneth Cole, RACHEL Rachel Roy, Tommy Hilfiger, Ryan Seacrest Distinction (the clothes are fine but they’ve GOT to rethink that name) and more, hit the runways. And you won’t want to miss the debut of Betsey Johnson XOX Trolls, a zinged-out, neon-bright line inspired by the upcoming “Trolls” film.

What you won’t see on the televised special is what happened off camera. “Queer Eye’s” Carson Kressley kept the audience revved (and laughing) during breaks, coaxing a group of women in the front row to loosen up — “You’re looking a little prim, like you’re waiting for jury duty” — and teasing Rancic about her outfit. “It’s like a sensible, nighttime, cocktail onesie,” he said. He also called out Martha Stewart when she … ahem … left early.

The evening was all for a good cause: Macy’s is donating all proceeds from tickets sold (minus those pesky Ticketmaster fees) to Ronald McDonald House New York and the Council of Fashion Designers of America Foundation.
