New York City saw its first baby of 2023 come into the world at the stroke of midnight at a Brooklyn medical center.
Kingsley Mei arrived at the stroke of midnight — right around the time the ball finished dropping at Times Square — at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health Center, according to the medical facility.
The little guy weighs 6 lbs., 7.6 ounces and measures 19 inches in length. He’s the first child of proud parents Dexin and Holly Mei, also of Brooklyn.
If prior trends hold, Kingsley will be among the roughly 15,000 babies expected to be delivered this year at NYC Health + Hospitals facilities across the five boroughs, according to the public health system.
