Police released video Friday of two crooks who violently robbed a 29-year-old man in the Bronx last month during a deal gone bad.
Law enforcement sources said the incident occurred at 6:05 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2019 along the block of Teller Avenue between East 166th and East 167th Streets.
According to authorities, the 29-year-old man connected with a male individual through social media and came to the location to complete an agreed-upon exchange of items.
Upon driving to the scene, cops said, two male individuals approached and entered his vehicle. They then demanded the victim’s property, and one of the suspects displayed a firearm.
The other crook, police noted, placed the victim in a chokehold while the gun-toting crook grabbed the victim’s property — a Gucci bag that contained an Apple iPhone 8, $200 in cash and a wallet with two credit cards and his passport.
Seconds later, the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention, authorities noted.
Soon after the robbery, police reported, the suspects visited a nearby Target store, located at 40 West 225th St., and unsuccessfully attempted to buy electronic equipment with the stolen credit cards.
The video police released showed the two crooks inside the Target store. They’re described as men in their 20s with average builds, both of whom wore hooded jackets, jeans and sneakers.
