The NYPD has arrested a suspect who they say raped and robbed a woman in a Bronx apartment building.
46-year-old Ramon Rotestan, of Webster Avenue in the Bronx, was arrested on May 12 and charged with rape and sexually motivated robbery.
According to police, at 10 p.m. on May 9 Rotestan allegedly followed a 40-year-old woman into a residential building in the vicinity of Bolton Street and Lydig Avenue. He then allegedly followed the victim into the elevator, pulled out a knife and took $112 from the victim’s wallet.
Rotestan then allegedly pulled out a condom packet from his jacket pocket, ripped it open and pulled the prophylactic out, then proceed to allegedly rape the woman. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
