Investigators are looking into the death of a 47-year-old woman who was found with head trauma inside a Bronx apartment on Monday.
Officers from the 46th Precinct made the gruesome discovery while conducting a wellness check at the victim’s home on Wicks Avenue near Grand Concourse in Mount Hope. Police sources said the check was requested by a social worker who knew the victim.
Moments after entering the apartment, the officers found the woman unconscious and unresponsive, lying face down on the bed, with a head wound.
Responding EMS units pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Police withheld her identity, pending family notification.
The victim’s body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
