Cops need the public’s help in finding a group of five young men who brutally beat up and stabbed two 15-year-old boys at a Bronx subway stop Thursday morning.
The NYPD released photos of the quintet responsible for the Nov. 21 attack, which began at 11 a.m. inside the Westchester Square station on the 6 line, near Ferris Place and Westchester Avenue.
According to law enforcement sources, the two victims were standing on the Manhattan-bound platform when the group of attackers approached and surrounded them. One of the suspects asked the victims if they “had a problem.”
That led to a verbal dispute which eventually turned violent, authorities said. The group repeatedly punched, kicked and stabbed the teens, then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Cops responded to a 911 call about the incident and found one of the 15-year-old victims with multiple stab wounds to his back, and the other stabbed numerous times in his buttocks. Paramedics brought both teens to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.
Police described all five suspects as Hispanic males between 18 and 23 years of age. One of them stands about 6 feet tall, weighs 300 pounds and has a large build with a medium complexion, along with brown eyes, curly black hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the NASA logo on the front, black sweatpants and black sneakers.
Authorities said the second suspect had a small build and wore a red jacket, a white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. The third assailant had a medium build and was spotted wearing a black hooded jacket, a white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and multi-colored sneakers.
Law enforcement sources described the fourth individual as having a medium build and wearing a gray jacket, a maroon hoodie and camouflage pants. Finally, the fifth perpetrator, also with a medium build, wore a black hooded jacket.
