The death of a man found inside his Brooklyn apartment Sunday morning has been deemed a homicide, cops said Wednesday.

Police deployed to 58-year-old James Keitt’s Starrett City apartment at around 7:40 a.m. on May 28, where they found him unconscious and unresponsive, with bruises on his face. EMS pronounced Keitt dead at the scene.

An investigation later revealed that Keitt had been involved in an earlier dispute with another man inside the Elmira Loop apartment, where he was punched by the suspect, who then fled the scene. Authorities believe Keitt went to sleep after the assault, and subsequently lost consciousness as a result of his injuries.

There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
