Before the heavy rains of Hurricane Ida’s remnants pummeled the city, police in Brooklyn responded to another deadly episode of gun violence on Wednesday afternoon.
Law enforcement sources said Duel Collins, 38, was shot to death at the corner of Krier Place and East 92nd Street in Canarsie at about 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.
Officers from the 69th Precinct found Collins, who lived down the block on East 92nd Street, at the intersection with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
EMS units rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
As of Thursday morning, police did not have information about a possible motive for the shooting, or a description of the suspect responsible.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
