Cops are looking for a crook who conned a senior woman out of thousands of dollars twice in the same week in Brooklyn.
According to police, at 12:35 p.m. on Jan. 22, a 78-year-old woman was waiting for a bus at a stop in the vicinity of Lenox Road and Bedford Avenue when she was approached by an unknown man. The man proceeded to talk to the victim about donating money to a charity and drove her to her nearby home, where she gave him $3,300. Police say that the suspect then drove the victim to her doctor’s office.
Days later on Jan. 27, the victim was at her home when she received a call from an unknown man at 11:45 a.m. The man claimed to be a detective and needed to recover money from her apartment as evidence. The suspect then arrived at the victim’s home and she handed over $1,200.
