Brooklyn detectives continue to investigate a deadly stabbing on Sunday night that left a 37-year-old man dead.

Law enforcement sources said Abdoul Sambare was slain inside his apartment at 211 Crown St. in Crown Heights, just around the corner from the campus of Medgar Evers College, just before 9:26 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Officers from the 71st Precinct found Sambare stabbed in the torso after responding to the location following a 911 call. EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Daily News reported that a person of interest was taken into custody at the scene for further questioning, but on Monday morning, an NYPD spokesperson could not confirm that information.

The motive for the stabbing remains unknown and under investigation, police sources said. No arrests have been made in the case.

The 71st Precinct reported four homicides in the 71st Precinct through Oct. 29, according to the most recent CompStat report. That’s down from the seven murders tallied at the same point in 2022.
