The death of a Brooklyn woman who was killed by her neighbor back in December has officially been ruled a homicide, police announced Friday.

According to police, at 3:52 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2019, the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding an assault inside an apartment at the Oceanview Manor Home for Adults, located at 3010 West 33rd Street. Upon their arrival, officers found 58-year-old Ann McGrory, unconscious and unresponsive, inside of 64-year-old Frank Thompson’s apartment with trauma to the head.

EMS rushed to the location and declared McGrory dead at the scene.

On Dec. 4, 2019, Thompson was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder. On March 13, the NYPD announced that McGrory’s death was ruled a homicide.

While McGrory and Thompson were neighbors, sources familiar with the investigation could not confirm if they were anything beyond friends.
