Firefighters rescued multiple dogs from a garage fire in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 1 p.m. on Jan. 23, FDNY units arrived at 706 East 32nd St. to heavy smoke showing from the garage. Firefighters deployed a hose line and quickly knocked down the main body of the fire.
After knocking back the fire, FDNY members found three pit bull puppies in the garage. One of the pups was badly burned while the other two were unharmed. Firefighters took one of the dogs back to the firehouse.
According to several witnesses on the block, the house had been recently taken over by squatters.
“This house is the problem house on the block,” said local resident Anita Clark.
The fire was placed under control at 1:45 p.m.
