A massive fire ripped through a Flatbush, Brooklyn home on Friday morning, sending the elderly occupants running from the smoke and flames, fire officials said.
There were no injuries in the fire which broke out at 11:45 a.m. on May 29 and tore through 638 East 40th St. When firefighters arrived, flames were already licking out the front window of the two story home.
About 75 firefighters battled the flames. The fire was under control in about 45 minutes, but by then, the house had sustained heavy damage.
Official say the cause of the fire will be under investigation, but it was not considered suspicious.
