Cops need the public’s help in finding two men who helped rob a 44-year-old man at gunpoint during a cellphone sale gone bad in Brooklyn.
Law enforcement sources said the caper took place at 4:10 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the lobby of an apartment building on Park Place near Howard Avenue in Brownsville.
According to police, the victim met with Derrick Reed, 23 (who was later arrested), with the purported intent of buying two cellphones and AirPods.
As Reed engaged the suspect in conversation, authorities said, the two unidentified suspects entered the lobby and confronted the victim. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim while his cohort removed $1,000 in cash.
The crooks later fled the scene in an unknown direction. Detectives arrested Reed on Dec. 17 for his role in the caper; he was booked on a robbery charge.
On Dec. 25, the NYPD released images of the two unidentified suspects still at large.
Cops described the gun-toting perpetrator as a black man standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing eyeglasses. He was last seen wearing a Champion hooded sweatshirt.
The other unidentified suspect is described as a black man standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
