A group of individuals impersonating NYPD cops held up a deli in Brooklyn during a Sunday morning robbery, police said.
According to police sources, at least four people wearing all black clothing entered the deli at 114 Marcus Garvey Blvd. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 8 a.m. on April 27.
In addition to their dark attire, sources familiar with the incident reported that the group wore jackets inscribed with the NYPD logo.
Law enforcement sources said at least one member of the fake cop crew brandished a firearm, forcing a 48-year-old man and a 68-year-old man to the floor at gunpoint.
Sources familiar with the investigation report that the robbers may have been interested in gaining access to a safe. However, they only took assorted property from the location before fleeing in a dark-colored van. NYPD sources did not reveal exactly what was taken.
Officers from the 79th Precinct responded to the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
