A pervert who attempted to rape a woman as she waited for a train in Lower Manhattan early on Monday morning remains at large, police reported.

According to police sources, the 30-year-old woman was waiting on the northbound platform for the F train at the East Broadway station, near Rutgers Street, around 2:30 a.m. on April 7, when her attacker approached her from behind.

Police report he did not say anything to his victim before he immediately attempted to yank her pants down.

She frantically fled up a nearby escalator, where he managed to remove her pants and tried to use his fingers to violate her. As she dialed 911 on her cell phone, cops said, the sicko snatched the device and tossed it over the side of the escalator.

Although police did not say why, the suspect fled without completing the vile act.

The 7th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 4 were notified of the incident. Police said the woman did not suffer any injuries.

Her attacker is described as approximately 25 to 35 years of age, standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds, with a thin build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers.
