Detectives are on the hunt for the shooter who fatally gunned down a 23-year-old man following a brief conversation in East Harlem on Sunday night.
Police said the homicide happened at about 7:41 p.m. on Nov. 14 near the corner of East 110th Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers from the 23rd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call regarding a man shot, found Jayquaan Francis, 23, of Madison Avenue unconscious and unresponsive with a bullet wound to his head.
EMS rushed Francis to nearby Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police learned that Francis had been involved moments earlier in a conversation with two suspects. During the talk, sources familiar with the investigation said, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and blasted Francis in the head.
After firing the shot, the shooter and their accomplice fled the scene. One of the suspects wore a blue jacket with white pants and sneakers, while the other perpetrator wore a black jacket and black sneakers.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
