New Yorkers were able to support Israeli fashion designers from Sept. 25 to Sept. 27 at Showroom Seven in Hudson Yards, ahead of the high holy holidays.

Just one week shy of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebrated, on the evening of Oct. 2, Veronika Solovianova, stylist and founder of Mood Store, worked to create a showcase of cutting-edge designers from the Middle East at 501 10th Avenue.

For Solovianova, this pop-up was centered on uplifting Israeli artists who represent both progressive and contemporary styles honoring Jewish culture.  She shared with amNewYork Metro that this three-day affair exhibited more than beautiful pieces of clothing, but also the stories behind their creators.

“Israeli designers belong on the biggest fashion scene. Not only do they create with such high skill and dedication to the product, but the stories behind each brand are those of strength, resilience and forever hope,” Solovianova said.

The collection included attire and jewelry from Holyland, Maya Bash, Desert Queen, Janni, Vjera V, Ruby Star, Maroc Jewels, and Natalie Kanevski. There was also a special guest designer from Belarus, Mikita Kunitsk whose handcrafted jewelry centered around the style in Tel Aviv and focused on securing Israel in the fashion world.

Maroc Jewels created a necklace with the Hebrew symbol, “Chai”—similar to the significance of the Star of David—which connotes living with faith. Vjera V, whose work is self-described as “Soul Stitched Pieces,” intertwined woolen sweaters with beading, creating a modern fall look that would be stylish on any wearer.

Solovianova, says that amongst the group of designers, the brand HolylandCivilians stood out due to their staunch dedication to “capturing the essence of contemporary Israeli fashion, marching local creativity with global trends.”

“It was important for me to bring them to NYC, and this is just beginning,” Solovianova promised.
