Detectives are looking for the suspects involved in a shooting on a Harlem street early Monday morning that left a 24-year-old man dead.
Menkie Woodard-Collins, 24, of Fifth Avenue took a fatal bullet to the head in front of an apartment building at 50 West 139th St. at about 12:35 a.m. on Sept. 13, authorities reported.
According to police, two men got into a dispute near the location when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and opened fire.
It’s not clear at this point whether Woodard-Collins was the intended target, or if he was involved in the dispute in any way, sources familiar with the investigation said.
The suspects involved in the shooting were gone by the time officers from the 32nd Precinct responded to the location, after cops received a 911 call about the gunfire.
Police officers found Woodard-Collins on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS rushed him to nearby Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
