Detectives need the public’s help in finding the assailant who scalded a 46-year-old man with hot liquid during an attack in the West Village last month.
Police released photos on Monday night of the attacker sought for the assault that occurred at about 11:40 a.m. on Jan. 16 in front of a business on West 14th Street near 5th Avenue.
Law enforcement sources said the assailant approached the victim from behind and knocked him to the ground. The suspect then threw a cup of hot liquid on the man and ran away southbound on 5th Avenue toward West 13th Street.
Officers from the 6th Precinct responded to the incident. The victim was treated at Lenox Health Greenwich Village for burns to his arm.
