Transit detectives are looking for the suspects behind a vicious stabbing at the Union Square station early on Sunday morning.
The NYPD released video of one of the perpetrators involved in the heinous attack that occurred at about 1:45 a.m. on July 2 at the L train platform of the 14th Street-Union Square stop.
According to law enforcement sources, the victim, a 28-year-old man, had become involved in a verbal dispute with the suspects. Police did not disclose a possible motive for the argument.
The beef turned bloody, authorities said, when the suspects went on the attack — using a cutting instrument to repeatedly stab and slash the man about his body.
Following the assault, cops said, the perpetrators boarded a Brooklyn-bound L train and fled.
Officers from the 13th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 4 responded to the assault. EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect shown in the video appears to have worn a New York Yankees baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored shorts and white sneakers.
