Theft of parked car in East Village
Police said they are looking for a man who stole thousands of dollars out of an unlocked car in the East Village on Monday, March 9. Around 9:53 a.m., a 23-year-old male victim reported to the police that an unknown person allegedly entered a parked vehicle that was unoccupied and unlocked near East 13 Street and First Avenue, and then took $10,000, officials said. The man, wanted for grand larceny, then fled the location.
Man sought for attacking senior: cops
A man is wanted for assaulting a 73-year-old man while walking outside, police said. On Wednesday, Feb. 26, around 10:30 a.m., the alleged attacker approached the victim while walking at the corner of Second Avenue and East 10th Street, then punched and kicked him in the face, according to officials. The victim sustained a laceration to his hip and head, and the attacker fled on foot, police said.
Cell phone snatched on East 9th Street
Police said they’re looking for a cell phone thief after an incident in the East Village in front of 233 East 9th Street. On March 2, around 6 p.m., a man allegedly snatched a cell phone from a 26-year-old woman as they walked past each other, police said.
Late-night mugging on East 12th Street
A man is sought for allegedly attacking and robbing a woman late at night on East 12th Street and Second Avenue, police said. On Sunday, March 1, around 2 a.m., a female victim, 25, was walking east when a stranger allegedly approached from behind and forcibly took her purse by pushing the woman to the ground, officials said. The purse contained a cell phone and credit cards. The alleged robber then fled on foot. No injuries were reported from the incident, according to officials.
