Charges are pending against a Queens man being questioned after a bag of human remains were found in the basement of his home on Saturday afternoon.
The 30-year-old man’s father apparently made the gruesome discovery while cleaning out the basement of the residence on 138th Avenue near Carson Street in Laurelton at 2:51 p.m. on June 18.
Officers from the 105th Precinct responded to the home after receiving a 911 call about the incident. They located the remains, which were contained inside of a plastic bag.
Members of the Medical Examiner’s office picked up the remains and brought them in for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Following a preliminary investigation, officers took the 30-year-old man into custody for further questioning.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
