A woman was fatally stabbed inside a Coney Island apartment house during the early hours Tuesday morning, police said. The killing, according to reports, appeared to stem from a domestic dispute.
Cops were called to a West 20th Street house, near Mermaid Avenue, at around 1:25 a.m. where they observed a 44-year-old woman in the first-floor hallway with stab wounds to her neck and torso.
EMS responded and transported the woman to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where she was later pronounced deceased.
Police have taken a 50-year-old man into custody who was at the house and also recovered a knife.
Published reports indicate that the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute where the 50-year-old man accused his fiancée of cheating on him — and then stabbed her. A police spokesperson, however, did not confirm that.
The victim’s name has yet to be released, pending family notification.
