Police are looking for the crook behind the shocking robbery of an Uber driver who gave her a lift from East Harlem to the West Village recently.
Law enforcement sources said the female suspect zapped her driver with a Taser before stealing his wallet and later attempting to use his credit card at a McDonald’s restaurant.
The NYPD released on Saturday afternoon images of the perpetrator behind the Nov. 13 caper, which began at around 1:30 a.m. when the 55-year-old male victim picked up the suspect at the corner of East 102nd Street and First Avenue.
Cops said the crook asked her driver to take her to the corner of West 9th Street and 6th Avenue.
After arriving at the location moments later, authorities reported, the woman pulled out a Taser from a white bag and stunned the victim multiple times in the right shoulder. She then stole his wallet from the center console, and exited from the cab on foot, heading eastbound on West 9th Street.
The incident was reported to the 6th Precinct. Police said the driver refused medical attention at the scene.
Cops learned that the victim’s wallet contained $375 in cash, as well as his personal ID and several credit cards. Through an investigation, police learned that the suspect used the victim’s credit card to make a purchase at a McDonald’s restaurant located at 688 8th Ave in Midtown.
That’s where the NYPD captured images of the robber, whom they described as a woman with a medium complexion, a thin build and black hair in dread locks believed to be 25 years of age, standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 125 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a white Nike logo on the front, black pants and black shoes while carrying a large white bag.
