Antisemite assaults 29-year-old woman in Manhattan subway station: NYPD

A 29-year-old woman was punched in the head by an anti-Semite inside a Manhattan subway station Saturday, police said.

The victim was struck by an unknown man at around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 inside the 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue station in the 7-train passageway, cops said. 

The woman asked the hate-filled man what prompted the punch. According to police, the alleged bigot said it was because “you are Jewish” before fleeing the scene.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is investigation the assault and police have released a photo of the suspect.

The assault comes at a time when antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents are on the rise, following the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.
