NYPD Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the death of a woman who was found dismembered in a Brooklyn park on Monday, police said Thursday.
Brandy Odom’s naked torso, without her arms or legs, was left near the pedestrian path in Canarsie Park, at East 86th Street and Seaview Avenue, cops said. Someone walking their dog in the park saw the remains, covered by leaves, and called police at about 6:10 p.m. Monday, they said.
The next day, plastic bags containing human arms and legs were discovered in the park. Police believe the limbs belonged to Odom, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.
The woman was identified by a family member, police said.
Because of a lack of decomposition, investigators think Odom died recently and was dismembered at a different location before being dumped in the park and hastily covered with vegetation.
On Thursday, a police spokesman said investigators have “numerous leads” in the case.
The medical examiner will determine her cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
