Man left fighting for his life after being shot in Bronx apartment building

A man is clinging to life after being shot in the head inside a Bronx apartment building on Sunday, police said.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 inside the lobby of 530 East 138 St. in Mott Haven.

Officers from the 40th Precinct responded to a 911 call about the incident. When they arrived, they found a blood-covered man who had been shot in the head.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in critical condition.

It is unclear right now if the victim lives inside the building where he was shot.

Police do not yet have any information on a possible suspect(s), and so far no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.

Video on Citizen App showed police Sunday evening canvassing the area where the incident took place.

The shooting occurred the same day two other men were stabbed to death in the Bronx near a shopping plaza in Soundview. Police are still investigating the incident.
