An NYPD off-duty officer was arrested in Brooklyn on Sunday for allegedly assaulting his wife during an apparent domestic dispute, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Avijit Boiragee, 33, who is assigned to the 68th Precinct, wound up in cuffs on April 7.

Sources familiar with the case said Boiragee allegedly got into a verbal dispute with his 20-year-old wife inside a Sheepshead Bay residence, during which he allegedly punched her in the bicep.

Officers from the 61st Precinct were called to the scene and Boiragee was taken into custody on charges of assault and harassment. The victim refused medical attention.

Boiragee has been on the police force since 2021 and has also worked in the 78th Precinct. He will be suspended pending an investigation, sources familiar with the case said.
