A man was arrested after using a hammer to damage two Brooklyn mosques earlier this month, police said Thursday night.
The suspect was caught on video swinging a hammer at the Beit El-Maqdis Islamic Center on Sixth Avenue and 63rd Street on Nov. 11 and the United American Muslim Association of New York on Eighth Avenue, near 60th Street in Sunset Park shortly after, police said. The suspect was identified by police as Moy Y. Hu, a 37-year-old from Sunset Park.
Hu destroyed a camera and multiple windows at the first location, and a doorknob, doorbell and mailbox at the second, cops said.
He fled the scene on 59th Street, but was captured on surveillance footage.
Hu faces two counts of criminal mischief.
