Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old homeless woman with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a mother multiple times while the victim was with her 3-year-old daughter in Downtown Brooklyn Monday.
Lequasiah Lawrence was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a 34-year-old mother, who was pushing a stroller with her 3-year-old inside, in the chest and legs at around 3:30 p.m. while on the corner of Jay Street and Tillary Street.
The incident took place after the pair got into a dispute. Lawrence, according to police, then pulled out a knife and threatened the child. The victim went to protect her 3-year-old and was stabbed–before Lawrence allegedly fled on Jay Street.
The mom was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition. The child was not injured.
Lawrence has also been charged with assault, police said.
