Police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a 19-year-old Brooklyn man, hitting him in the mouth and torso, early Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot outside a residence at 1112 E. 104 St. in Canarsie, Brooklyn, at approximately 2:40 a.m. on March 19.
Officers from the 69th Precinct arrived to find the bloodied victim Christian Montrose, 19, with gunshot wounds to the mouth and torso.
EMS transported the man to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The suspect fled the scene before cops arrived, and no weapons or shell casings were recovered. As of press time, the motive for the shooting was unknown, and it’s unclear whether the victim was deliberately targeted.
Police did not have a description of the suspected shooter as of Tuesday morning, sources said. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Overall crime has gone down 9.04% in Canarsie and the surrounding areas year to date from 2023, with a 50% decrease in murder, according to the latest police data.
