A 17-year-old boy and his mother were arrested in the fatal stabbing of another 17-year-old boy in broad daylight on a street in Midwood, police said Wednesday.
David Lopez was charged with murder Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed Rohan Burke about 4 p.m. Monday near the corner of East 17th Street and Avenue M, cops said.
Burke, of Flatlands, was found lying on the ground outside a pizza shop with a stab wound to his upper torso, near his armpit and shoulder, police said. He was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he later died.
The investigation into the motive of the attack is ongoing, police said.
Lopez’s mother, Barbara Galloza, 38, was also arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution, police said. She is accused of disposing of the knife used to stab Burke.
Shortly after the stabbing, surveillance video shows what appears to be Lopez handing off the knife to a woman.
