The brother of famed actress and model Julia Fox was arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning for allegedly making drugs and ghost guns, police confirmed.
According to police sources, the NYPD major case intelligence team executed a search warrant on East 84th Street and 3rd Avenue after a long-term investigation. During the raid, law enforcement reportedly retrieved an array of ghost gun parts and equipment used to make narcotics, including pressing devices to make pills. Not only that, police also state that they found materials used to make explosives, such as pressure cookers and what they described as chemicals that could also be used to make drugs.
While the chemicals on site were deemed non-hazardous, the illegal makeshift plant was reportedly brimming with so many illicit items that the Ghost Gun team reportedly had to call for backup in order to remove everything.
According to police sources, both Julia Fox’s father and brother were taken into custody. However, only 30-year-old Christopher Fox was charged for the laboratory.
Despite the explosive material, cops do not believe the incident to be connected to terrorism.
“The NYPD will continue to fight relentlessly against illegal guns, both the steady proliferation of traditionally manufactured firearms and increasingly prevent the number of illegal untraceable but fully functional weapons known as ghost guns,” an NYPD spokesperson told amNewYork Metro.
The suspect’s sister, Julia Fox, is known for her breakout role in the 2019 film Uncut Gems.
Fox is expected to be arraigned in court on March 9.
